Candidate Considerations and What You Need to Know About Challenging Levels and Equivalencies

Challenging a Level

English rider candidates have the opportunity to challenge a Rider Level. They are required to write and pass all prior written levels up to and including the level they are challenging. Riders are responsible for reviewing the requirements at each of the prior levels. If a candidate is unsuccessful at the Rider Level they are challenging the evaluator has the option to award the rider with the appropriate level.

Pony Club C2 is equivalent to  Rider 6 and Pony Club B to Rider 8

Western rider candidates may challenge any Rider Level up to and including Rider 4. However, in the case of challenges, the candidate must complete the Written and Stable Management portions of all the Levels prior to the Level they are challenging. They may then be evaluated on the challenged Level. Rider 4 is a prerequisite to Basic Training. If a candidate is unsuccessful at the Rider Level they are challenging the evaluator has the option to award the rider with the appropriate level.

There are no equivalencies in Western Rider program.
