About the panel
Karen Furneaux is an Olympian, Sports Hall of Fame athlete and speaker. A world-renowned athletewho has dedicated her career to the sport of paddling, she is a true champion in her field. She has competed in numerous international competitions, including the Olympics, and has consistently achieved top results. In addition to her success as an athlete, Karen has also dedicated herself to coaching and developing the next generation of paddlers. She is highly respected in the paddling community and is known for her dedication, discipline, and commitment to excellence.
Duan Ash is a lawyer with Boyne Clarke LLP in Halifax and former varisty athlete with the MSVU Mystics men's basketball program. He is entering his third season as the head coach of the Auburn Drive High School varsity women's basketball team. This season will be the team's biggest test as they defend their provincial title from 2022. "I am proud to have been given this opportunity and responsibility to lead young women achieve their goals both on and off the court," says Ash.
Joline Richard is the head coach of the Université de Moncton women's volleyball team. Prior to taking on this role in 2021, she played on the Université de Moncton women's volleyball team from 2010 to 2015, where she served as the team's captain. She also participated as an athlete at the Canadian Francophone Games in 2008 and in the Canada Games in 2009. Previous to joining the UdeM coaching staff, Joline helmed team New Brunswick, Bleu et Or, Fuzion high performance and Crandall University teams.
