Club Membership
Offered on a calendar-year basis, our Club/Association Membership is available to equine/equestrian discipline or breed clubs/associations. Members have representation on the Equestrian NS Board of Directors via the designated Club Director position.
Insurance Requirements
Although there is a minimum criteria to join us, clubs/associations are required to have commercial general liability insurance coverage, (minimum coverage limit of $2,000,000). The policy is to include Equestrian NS as an "additional insured". We highly recommend that member clubs/associations carry Directors' and Officers' Liability insurance.
Our insurance partner, ACERA Insurance, can meet equine breed or discipline clubs and associations' insurance needs.
Two types of insurance offered specifically for clubs and associations are:
Commercial General Liability Insurance - Insurance that protects the organization, board members, volunteers, employees and others acting in an official capacity for bodily injury and/or property damage claims arising from activities as filed with Underwriters. Coverage limit $5,000,000 per occurrence and includes claims arising from injury to "participants" Extensions included (see attached).
Management Liability (Formerly Director's and Officer's Liability) - a special coverage available separately to Clubs who require insurance to protect the officers and directors of the organization for "wrongful acts" arising from their official duties. Coverage limits available $1,000,000 - $5,000,000. Coverage may be extended to the actual ownership of land/buildings, and the operation or maintenance of equine facilities where you Own, Rent or Maintain Land/Building(s) for more than 15 consecutive days.

Club Member Benefits/Services
Club listing on our Website;
• Promotion of your clubs events, competitions, clinics on our website and at Equestrian NS participated trade shows/fairs;
• Club Recognition Program provides three certificates of recognition to individuals you select. They may be for volunteers, junior achievement, and/or sponsors, (whatever you decide). Simply send us the names and what they are being recognized for and the date that they will be presented. We will print the certificates and mail them directly to you. We will also print certificates for your year-end competition award winners, if applicable.

Fundraising/Funding Initiatives
Amateur Sport Fund/Support 4 Sport - Member clubs/associations may access funding for facility upgrading, clinics/seminars, equipment through Sport Nova Scotia. Please check with our office for assistance with these funding initiatives as there are specific guidelines and application deadlines.
Sportsweep (Fall/Winter) and Sportsweep (Spring/Summer) Tickets - club/association retains 75% of ticket sales. This is the easiest fundraiser you'll ever organize!
Sport Split - on-line 50/50 Fundraising program offered through Sport Nova Scotia.
